Bubinga, when freshly cut, varies in color from red to reddish-brown with veins of gold or purple. This West African tree can be found growing mostly in the Cameroons, Gabon and the Ivory Coast of Africa and is also known as African Rosewood. A lustrous wood, Bubinga produces a distinct figure, usually stripes and mottles.
